They may not yet have a confirmed material grade, molding machine, tooling system, sintering furnace or established production process.<\/p>\n<p>Buying a hydraulic press alone does not create a PTFE production capability. The material formulation, tube dimensions, powder charge, mold, pressing sequence, demolding method and sintering system must work together.<\/p>\n<p>SUKO primarily manufactures <a href=\"https:\/\/ptfe-machinery.com\/ru\/\">PTFE processing machinery<\/a> and complete production lines. We help customers progress from having only a product requirement to operating their own PTFE production line independently.<\/p>\n<p>Our experience includes complete molding lines for bronze-filled PTFE tubes supplied to customers in Russia, Turkey and Syria, as well as a carbon-filled <a href=\"https:\/\/ptfe-machinery.com\/ru\/product-category\/polymer-molding-machine\/\">PTFE tube molding<\/a> project for a customer in Russia.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Modified PTFE Requires a Purpose-Built Molding Line<\/h2>\n<p>A modified PTFE compound cannot always be processed by replacing virgin PTFE powder with filled powder while leaving every machine and process setting unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze, glass fiber, carbon fiber, carbon, graphite and pigments can affect:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Bulk density and powder flow<\/li>\n<li>Charge weight for the same tube dimensions<\/li>\n<li>Powder distribution inside the mold<\/li>\n<li>Compaction behavior<\/li>\n<li>Pressure-holding requirements<\/li>\n<li>Demolding behavior<\/li>\n<li>Tooling wear<\/li>\n<li>Sintering response<\/li>\n<li>Dimensional change after sintering<\/li>\n<li>Surface condition and machining allowance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The extent of these changes depends on the base resin, filler type, filler percentage, tube cross-section and production method. The actual machine and process configuration must be confirmed from the selected compound and product specification.<\/p>\n<h2>Start with the Tube, Not the Machine Model<\/h2>\n<p>The first step is to define what the customer must produce.<\/p>\n<p>For a modified PTFE molded tube, SUKO evaluates:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Outside diameter<\/li>\n<li>Inside diameter<\/li>\n<li>\u0422\u043e\u043b\u0449\u0438\u043d\u0430 \u0441\u0442\u0435\u043d\u043a\u0438.<\/li>\n<li>Individual tube length<\/li>\n<li>Finished tube or machining billet<\/li>\n<li>Required machining allowance<\/li>\n<li>Compound type and filler percentage<\/li>\n<li>Expected production quantity<\/li>\n<li>Dimensional tolerance<\/li>\n<li>Surface requirements<\/li>\n<li>Final application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These details determine the powder charge, mold dimensions, press capacity, working stroke, demolding structure and furnace loading requirement.<\/p>\n<p>Selecting a press only from the outside diameter can be misleading. Two tubes with the same outside diameter may require very different equipment if their inside diameters, lengths, compounds and charge weights are different.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 1: Evaluate the Material Direction<\/h2>\n<p>Some customers know that virgin PTFE does not provide sufficient wear resistance or dimensional stability, but they have not selected a specific filled grade.<\/p>\n<p>SUKO can explain the main directions of commonly used materials:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Virgin PTFE for chemical resistance, purity and electrical insulation<\/li>\n<li>Glass-filled PTFE for improved compressive behavior and dimensional stability<\/li>\n<li>Carbon-fiber-filled PTFE for stiffness and creep control<\/li>\n<li>Bronze-filled PTFE for load, wear and heat-transfer requirements<\/li>\n<li>Carbon or carbon\/graphite systems for wear, friction, thermal or electrical requirements<\/li>\n<li>Pigmented PTFE when identification or appearance is required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SUKO is not positioning itself as a PTFE resin manufacturer. Our role is to help the customer understand how the selected compound affects the product, tooling, molding machine and complete production line.<\/p>\n<p>The final powder grade should be confirmed according to the customer\u2019s operating conditions and the applicable material data.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2: Configure Powder Preparation and Handling<\/h2>\n<p>The powder must arrive at the mold in a suitable and consistent condition.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the compound and production requirements, the preparation section may include:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Powder loosening or sieving<\/li>\n<li>Controlled mixing<\/li>\n<li>Weighing<\/li>\n<li>Material transfer<\/li>\n<li>Powder charging<\/li>\n<li>Dust-control measures<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning arrangements between material batches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Filled compounds require attention to material uniformity. Poor filler distribution can produce inconsistent density, surface appearance or mechanical performance across the molded tube.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze-filled compounds also have a significantly different charge weight from virgin PTFE for the same apparent volume. Material handling and batch weighing must reflect the actual compound density.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3: Select the PTFE Molding Press<\/h2>\n<p>The press must provide more than a nominal tonnage value.<\/p>\n<p>Equipment selection should consider:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Required forming force<\/li>\n<li>Working-table dimensions<\/li>\n<li>Cylinder stroke<\/li>\n<li>Available mold height<\/li>\n<li>Powder charge and preform height<\/li>\n<li>Pressure-control accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Pressure-holding requirements<\/li>\n<li>Loading access<\/li>\n<li>Demolding direction<\/li>\n<li>Production frequency<\/li>\n<li>Automatic or semi-automatic operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For tall tube blanks, the distribution of compaction through the powder column must be considered. Depending on the tube geometry, a double-acting or specially configured pressing structure may be evaluated to improve compaction control.<\/p>\n<p>The correct press is the machine that matches the material, mold, tube dimensions and production method, rather than simply the machine with the largest pressure rating.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4: Design the Mold, Mandrel and Demolding System<\/h2>\n<p>The mold defines the tube geometry before sintering:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>The mold cavity controls the outside diameter<\/li>\n<li>The mandrel controls the inside diameter<\/li>\n<li>The filling height and compression route affect the preform<\/li>\n<li>The demolding structure determines how the unsintered blank is removed safely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tooling design must consider:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Compound behavior<\/li>\n<li>Tube wall thickness<\/li>\n<li>Tube length<\/li>\n<li>Machining allowance<\/li>\n<li>Expected dimensional change<\/li>\n<li>Surface finish<\/li>\n<li>Ease of powder loading<\/li>\n<li>Demolding force<\/li>\n<li>Tool maintenance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Filled PTFE may also introduce different tooling-wear considerations. The mold and mandrel must be designed for repeat production and practical maintenance, not only for producing the first acceptable preform.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 5: Match the Sintering System to the Product<\/h2>\n<p>After molding, the unsintered PTFE tube must be heated, held and cooled under a controlled program.<\/p>\n<p>The sintering system must be evaluated according to:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>PTFE compound<\/li>\n<li>Tube cross-section<\/li>\n<li>Individual product mass<\/li>\n<li>Number of tubes per furnace load<\/li>\n<li>Furnace airflow<\/li>\n<li>Temperature uniformity<\/li>\n<li>Heating and cooling requirements<\/li>\n<li>Required production cycle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PTFE has low thermal conductivity. A thick molded tube does not heat and cool in the same way as a thin component.
